If I returned, I would definitely plan on driving through the park twice. I did wander in and found a few animals to take pictures of, so I’m glad I made the effort to go in. My research told me this was mainly an amusement park for children with some animals around, so I almost skipped it. And honestly, my windows were shut whenever I was moving or if an animal, especially the ostrich, was around.Īfter the drive through part of the tour, there was an Adventure Park offering a walk-around experience. I took a lot of pictures and only got told to roll up my truck window once, a rule of the park that I saw other people breaking also. There were also islands that housed Chimpanzees and White Gibbons. There were too many different animals to name them all, but included Greater Kudu, Ostrich, Gemsbok, Wildebeest, Asiatic Water Buffalo, Giraffe, White Rhinoceros, and Zebra. ![]() The rest of the animals mingled with other animals in their habitats. The only animal not roaming freely in a habitat was the lion. The drive took me through seven different habitats. An audio tour, accessed by pulling up their website on my phone, did a super job of giving a background about all the animals, and was the timing was almost perfect for the pace I set. ![]() I read on the website to plan 45 minutes to drive through the park, the person at the gate told me it would take an hour, I ended up spending 90 minutes and actually wanted to do the whole drive again. After you drive through the safari, you park and get to see more animals, as well as there is a water splash park for the kids, a ferris wheel, and a few other rides for the kids to enjoy. All while you drive through you listen to a cd about the animals. Get an upclose look at African animals, as you drive right next to zebra's, rhino's, giraffes. This is a really neat place! First you drive through a safari trail in your own car at your own pace. It would be a better place to visit during the cooler months. It does get quite hot during the summer and the animals are a little more lethargic. Your encounter with the animals depends on the heat and their mood, but it was helpful to be able to do the tour in our own car without getting the toddlers all out. It is expensive though so do try to find a coupon either on their website or in a brochure (find them in a hotel lobby). That being said, the kids really enjoyed the day. I expected them to be roaming free like the rest of the animals. I was especially disappointed that the lions were inside a fence. However, be aware that it's definitely and obviously a fenced area.
