Try disabling the "Wake on LAN" or enabling "ERP lot 3 support" (they are functionally equavilent in different names). I remember that the option itself had S2/S3/S4 and these are just the usb port names so see if you can disable it or limit it to one port and remember not to use it so much or make sure to unplug before sleep. You can turn it off from UEFI you'll find an option for it can't really remember it and too lazy to hibernate. That's actually a feature called USB PowerShare on USB 3.0 onwards. Then it will really shut off (technically called S5) and the USB power should be cut off. You can try pressing and holding the "Shift" key while clicking "Shut Down" option in the Windows. It's a hibernation (technically called S4). If so, then your "Shut Down" is not actually a shut-down. my only short term solution is that i take that usb cord out when i put my laptop to sleep, but unless i get some 5+ years extra usb port warranty, that's not so reasonable solution.ĭo i have to buy new cooling base with on/off switch or have i somehow missed something obvious in the uefi? If you suggest that maybe i looked at wrong page, then tell me how i was able to flas new bios from that same page.Īnd my other issue, is there any way to turn off usb power when i put my laptop in sleep mode? reason for this is that i have usb powered laptop cooling base, and it don't have on/off switch so it keeps on humming when ever it gets some power. so only option was to wipe that ssd and install fresh 10 pro using pid files to bypass that build in home key, after all that i have managet to install everything from my utilities page EXCEPT that true color tool, it just says that my device isn't supported but i clearly remember that it was pre installed on my laptop and it is listed on my device page. Originally i planned to use generic 10 pro upgrade key to trigger that upgrade, and after that i was going to activate that windows 10 pro with my 8 pro retail key but as i said i never got that far.Īnd no it wasn't just problem with keys, as that fellow at the helpline generated new 10 pro retail key for me but even that failed. no it wasn't just a user error as Microsoft's local helpdesk was just as clueless as i why it just said "this windows version cannot be upgraded" after that upgrade tool had made 1 reboot and it just stayed on home. So i got my laptop this Monday, and i had to wipe that ssd already because factory windows 10 home wouldn't upgrade to 10 pro.
